ich habe Linux (Fedora Core 5,) auf einem Notebook
installiert. Nach erfolgreicher Installation bootet der Rechner und
meldet nach dem Laden des Kernels folgendes:

danach f"ahrt der Rechner normal hoch, ist aber nur selten mit dem
Netz verbunden. Er sollte "uber DHCP versorgt werden und das klappt
auch gelegentlich, manchmal nachtr"aglich mittels
/sbin/ifup eth0
(ohne dass ich irgendwas anderes unternehme als diesen Befehl
einzutippen, nicht am Kabel wackeln oder so) aber meistens klappt es
nicht und er tut so, als fehlte ihm das Ethernet Kabel. dieses Kabel
und auch der Anschluss machen mit anderen Rechnern nie Probleme und
ein zweites, baugleiches Notebook zeigt dieselben Symptome, also nehme
ich mal an, dass das Problem eher in diesem BIOS-Fehler liegt.
Es gibt auf der Shell die Meldung
sky2 eth0: phy read timeout
die findet sich auch in den /var/log/messages, ich hab unten einen
Ausschnitt angef"ugt.
Booten mit no-acpi ver"andert den Zustand nicht. auch das Setzen von
Speed Step (R) Technology [Disabled]
im BIOS - Advanced - CPU-Features n"utzt nichts.
In den messages gab es den tip pci=routeirq, der hat auch nichts
genutzt, siehe ganz unten den ausschnitt der meldungen von gestern.

Ist nicht meins, es ist nur mein Job, es benutzbar zu
machen. "Ubrigens sind die Probleme, die ich auf dem Notebook mit
Windows XT habe, noch weitaus schlimmer: Die Installations-CD kann nicht
mal mit der Platte umgehen und das Workaround von Fujitsu Siemens,
diese erst mal ohne AHCI zu booten und sp"ater Treiber zu
installieren, funktioniert auch nicht. Aber das nur am Rande, weil so
oft behauptet wird, es sei einfacher, Windows auf neuer Hardware zu
installieren.
Wei"s jemand Rat?

PS: Selbst die Zeilen mit "Link is up" sollten eigentlich in unserem
Netz "100 Mbps, full duplex" melden.
