Perhaps some people won't like this, but..

Check out the NetBSD/vax port.

I boot several of my VAXen at home with MOP (at least the initial bootstrapper
which then uses BOOTP/TFTP to get the rest). They may have some useful docs
on the MOP format and the way files are structured.

The mailing list archive is also on www.netbsd.org..

On the mailing list there are usually some DEC engineers lurking around
who may be able to help.

P.S. so you guys thought that a Falcon030 was slow??? It's fast
compared to a VAX 11/730 :-)
