INFO A: "Europe's role for global security, democracy and justice", JEF
international seminar and Federal Committee, Budapest, 17-24.03.2002

JEF Europe and JEF Hungary are pleased to invite you to apply for this year
spring seminar and Federal Committee, to be held in Budapest, Hungary.

The seminar will take place from Sunday 17th to Friday 22d March.
Under the title "Europe's role for global security, democracy and justice",
it aims at discussing the contribution of the European institutions to
ensuring peace, security and democracy on the European continent, an more
broadly on the global scene. The seminar will aim at assessing the
challenges and opportunities for Europe's contribution in a global
environment more and more threatened by the resurgence of nationalism and
fragmentation, more and more looking at Europe's model of unity and
democracy, more and more counting on Europe's help. A comprehensive
discussion of the "goals" and "instruments" for an effective European
contribution to international peace, role for security, justice and
democracy will then lead participants to reflect on which are the deep
values and ideals behind these "goals" and "instruments", today and in the
future.

The seminar is organised with the support of the Council of Europe.

The Federal Committee of JEF Europe will meeting from Friday 22d to Sunday
24th March. Seminar participants are very welcome to stay for the Federal
Committee and to participate in the discussions and working groups.

The detailed programme of the seminar and the financial conditions of
participation will be finalised soon and published in JEF-Info and on the
website. For further information contact the European Secretariat.
