After upgrading from syslogd-1.31 to syslogd-1.4 on Linux2.2.17 klogd no longer logs kernel messages. It does not appear be opening the /dev/log socket correctly and an strace shows "connection refused".

Downgrading to 1.31 (complete recompile and resintall) fixes it again.

I can't seem to get to ftp.indodrom.north.de either -- no response at all.

Anybody got any ideas on either problem here?
