Linux@work ? Real solutions for putting Linux to work in business

Kronberg, (August 31, 1999) -- LogOn Technology Transfer today announced
a series of European events called "Linux@work". This one day
conference event, taking place in eight European cities, brings together
the leading providers of Linux-based solutions, professional IS and the
media to discuss Linux in the workplace.

Corporate participants include Red Hat, SuSE, IBM, Oracle, Dell,
Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Inprise and Informix. These vendors will be
on-hand to discuss their visions of how Linux can be deployed in the
workplace and how to harness the advantages as well as to avoid the
pitfalls. They will also be demonstrating their latest Linux technologies.

In addition, each vendor will have a representative present to
participate in a Q&A panel discussion. A locally based technical
editor will moderate the discussions.

With the market leading Linux solutions providers together in one forum,
attendees will be able to explore topics such as e-commerce and database
solutions, as well as Linux on the desktop. Vendors will also take up
hot topics like compatibility, support & reliability and strategic deployment.

"We're viewing Linux as more than just a simple porting exercise,"
commented Ludovic Neveu, marketing manager for Inprise, Nordic, Eastern
Europe, Mediterranean, Middle East. "Our recent survey of over 24,000
developers demonstrated real commitment to the Linux platform, with 23
percent already planning CORBA-based application integration efforts on
Linux. A year on from the release of Interbase 5.0, the first
commercially available database for Linux, it has now become our third
highest selling platform. We believe Linux@Work will strike a chord
with the large number of European companies pushing ahead with
mainstream development work on Linux."

"Linux@work" will take place in the following cities:

- Frankfurt- Monday, September 27.
- Zurich- Tuesday, September 28
- London- Thursday, September 30
- Copenhagen- Monday, October 11
- Oslo- Tuesday, October 12
- Stockholm- Wednesday, October 13
- Helsinki- Thursday, October 14
