That wouldn't be necessary - you'd just need to use the CUPS driver
and print an image very large, e.g.:
lp -o scaling=5000 filename.jpg
would produce about 50x50 pages of image data, so for A4 paper you'd
be looking at a 10.5x14.8 meter poster when you are done. 2500 pages
would probably take about 9 hours to print on a typical EPSON printer
and would require about 25 ink cartridges... :)
You could do something like the logo image for the trade show, maybe
with other stuff thown in, and then paste the image up on a big wall
somewhere as it printed. That would also allow you to use smaller
commodity paper - you'd still be printing a very large picture!
