Hi,
reading the discussion in the mailing list archive about STREAM/DGRAM sockets
I just want to add that for glibc 2.2 syslog.c of sysklogd 1.4 seems to be
broken by design. The library seems to stick to "You wanted a STREAM socket, so
you get one." without DGRAM fallback.
I'd strongly suggest a simple #ifdef for glibc6 if libc5 is still an issue.
Just to point at it again, the required patch was already posted to this list
by Olaf Kirch and is available in the list archive as:
http://www.infodrom.ffis.de/sysklogd/list/2000/att-0010/01-sysklogd-1.4-dos.patc
h
(beware of the wrap)

Cheers -
A. Steinmetz
