Hi folks,

I experienced some problems with Linux and NFS where the NFS-server
runs 2.0.36 and the client runs 2.2.13. The problem occurs when the
mailboxes are hosted on the nfs server and read from the nfs client.

The problem arises when Mutt is trying to lock the mailbox but fails.
Scanning the archive of linux-news I saw that somebody else has had
the same problem with Redhat and elm, so I guess this is a generic
incompatibility between the two kernel version.

Can somebody enlighten me what is going on here and how one is
supposed to change it? (other than upgrade the server, since that
would interfere some other problems...)

Regards,

        Joey
