LINUS TORVALDS ANNOUNCES PLANS TO INTEGRATE NETSCAPE BROWSER
TECHNOLOGY INTO IMMENSELY POPULAR OPERATING SYSTEM

HELSINKI, Finland. (January 23, 1998) -- Linus Torvalds, the creator
and maintainer of the immensely popular Linux Operating System,
today announced his plans to integrate the Netscape Browser with
his Operating System. He plans to direct his source code lieutenants
to take critical parts of the Linux Operating System and replace
those with Netscape Browser source code when it becomes available
at the end of the first quarter of 1998.

"This move will enable us to further promote the Linux Operating
System as the only stable DeskTop Operating System that is based
on modern technology," said Linus Torvalds. He assured that this
move did not mean that the capabilities for the Linux Operating
System to be a corporate intranet or extranet server would be
diminished in any way. "We have proven time and again that we are
serious about conquering the world with our technology by providing
the best performance on known hardware."

When asked about the major strength of GPL Operating Systems, Linus
said that there are no other Operating Systems in the world, apart
features while at the same time having a strong committment to
fixing bugs within 24 hours after discovery.

Analysts agree that the reference to FreeBSD probably means that
Linus will try to integrate it into Linux as well in the near
future. When asked, Linus said "There are no plans to integrate
FreeBSD at this time."

A Redmond company has been fighting with the Department of Justice
for the last couple of months about having a browser integrated
with an operating system. Mr Torvalds was not concerned about the
Department of Justice for two reasons. "First of all, contrary to
popular belief, the American Department of Justice has no jurisdiction
in Finland. Second, since the Redmond company has money, they will
be able to convince everyone in the United States that they are
right, and it will not be a problem for us to move in and reap the
benefits of the judge's decision."

Privately controlled, Linux (symbol: POWR) is based everywhere
computers are.

I know it's off topic... it says so in the subject.
