Lieber Leo, hallo alle,
die JEF hat in der Tat vor, in dem Zukunfts-Forum
zur Begleitung des Konvents intensiv mitzuarbeiten.
Sie hat zusammen mit der UEF, der Internationalen
Europäischen Bewegung und anderen vor 10 Tagen ein
föderalistisches Netzwerk namens Federalist Voice
gegründet, dass in den kommenden Anhörungen
und im Forum insgesamt eine Rolle spielen will
(s. Press Release in Anlage).
Zudem ist die JEF auch in einem Jugendnetzwerk aktiv.
Mal schauen, wie das klappt. Der Beginn ist
zumindest gemacht. Und dann gibt es da ja auch
noch den Jugend-Konvent den Giscard
am 28.2. in Brüssel angekündigt hat.
Da sollte die JEF natürlich auch führend dabei sein.

CONVENTION ON THE FUTURE OF THE EU:
FEDERALIST CONTACT GROUP ESTABLISHED
A common platform of European-wide organisations which share the goal of a European Federal
Constitution was established on Saturday, 24 February.
“Federalist Voice: Network for a European Constitution” aims to be accepted as an official contact
group in the Convention. The network will follow the work of the Convention on the future of the EU
closely and influence it in order that it delivers genuine reform of the Union and elaborates a
federal Constitution which can bring more democracy, efficiency and accountability for the whole of
Europe.
The “European Constitution” Intergroup within the European Parliament, the European Ligue for
Economic Cooperation, the European Young Socialists , the Gauche européenne, the International
European Movement, the Liberal and Radical Youth Movement of the European Union, the Réalités
Européennes du Présent, the Union of European Federalists and the Young European Federalists have
already subscribed to these initiative. These organisations represent many hundreds of thousands of
European citizens in the Union and in candidate countries who share the federalist objectives.
